Since then, the undercover operations of the SAS have included everything from border patrol in the jungle to preventing Marxist coups on Grenada. In 1980 the world watched as gunmen held 26 people hostage at the Iranian embassy in London. After a six-day stand off, the SAS stormed in with split-second timing and daring precision. After just 12 minutes, the rescue was complete and 21 hostages were saved. From south Georgia to the Congo, the missions of the SAS list a wide range of fine-tuned maneuvers, such as dangerous tree jumping and parachuting, to their credit.
